Books for Joplin

The Juvenile Office of Henry County is collecting books for students in grades 6-12 for the libraries of the Joplin School District. On Monday, October 3rd, any adult or student can get into the home volleyball game that night for free with the donation of 3 junior high or high school level books. Each person donating books will also receive a voucher for a free bag of popcorn during the game.

“We are happy Lakeland High School can assist the Juvenile Office in their efforts to assist in the rebuilding of the libraries in the Joplin Schools. This is just another positive way the juvenile office helps the community. We hope we will have a large turnout that night, not just for our student-athletes, but in response to the book drive as well.”

The Jr. High Volleyball team will play at 5:30pm in the Lakeland High School gym with Junior Varsity and Varsity matches to follow. Books may be donated to the cause at any time by delivering to the Lakeland High School office from 7:45am-4:00pm.
