The Lakeland R-III School Board voted to expand the district masking policy to all students K-12. This will go into effect when we return from Thanksgiving Break on December 1st. Students will not be required to wear masks when social distancing is possible. The district will be following the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services modified guidance on mask use and quarantine. Guidance from the Missouri DHSS on masks can be found in this link: https://dese.mo.gov/sites/defa... As number of cases continues to rise in the area, we want to keep the school environment safe while continuing to providing a quality education to all.

Masks will be made available to students who need them. Students are welcome to bring their own masks/gaiters. If a person is diagnosed with COVID-19 and close contacts (someone was within six feet for 15 minutes) are wearing masks appropriately during the time of exposure, the close contact would not be required to be quarantined. School officials will continue to notify you of potential close contacts, and you will have the option to quarantine your child(ren) if you choose.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
