Andrew "Drew" Joshua Shroyer passed away on February 21, 2020 in Riverton, WY at the age of 17. Drew and his brother Nate attended Lakeland through 6th and 8th grades. Their mother, Mrs. Tammy Shroyer, also taught 5th and 6th grade Science in the district. A local celebration of life will be held at the Lakeland High School Gymnasium on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 6 PM. There will be a balloon release conducted by the junior class following the service. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Drew Shroyer Memorial Fund.

Today was a historical day for our newly formed Lakeland Archery Team as they competed in their first tournaments. 9 archers shot at a 3D shoot in Cole Camp, followed by the larger group at Clinton High School this afternoon. There are currently 38 archers in grades 5-12. This is a lettering sport for high schoolers. They are coached by Tia West and Josh Bigler.

I have taught adjunct courses in United States History for Missouri State, Cy-Fair College, Blinn College and Ozarks Technical Community College. I have also taught research and writing at Missouri State.

The elementary is continuing to collect Best Choice labels and Box Tops. Elementary students who bring in the most of each label each week will get to select a prize from the office. The Box Tops program is changing. Traditional Box Tops clips are being phased out of production, but may continue to be found on many products throughout the store. You can still clip and send them to school. Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label. Use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online. Thank you for supporting our school!

I am the new middle school Science teacher and I am super excited to be here! Along with Spike and Sassy (our 7th, 8th, and 9th grade mascots) we are going to create new experiments in the lab, asking questions, gathering information, making a hypothesis, as we observe, record and share our results with all of you. I am all about positive thinking; it is a mental and emotional attitude that focuses on the bright side of life and expects positive results. A student with positive thinking mentality anticipates happiness, health and success, and believes that he or she can overcome any obstacle and difficulty. I will be graduating in December of this year with a Master's in Education from the University of Central Missouri. I am very compassionate about Ecology and our environment. I have 5 children, 6 grand children, 3 dogs, 2 birds and no partridge in a pear tree. Looking forward to meeting everyone and starting new adventures!

Ms. Cook’s first grade class won a $30 gift card from Target for having the most Moby Max minutes in school for the month of December. They purchased LEGO kits to use for indoor recesses. Moby Max is a website our students use for skills practice.
