NHS members are currently running 2 contests. The first one is to see which NHS member can recruit the most blood donors for our blood drive Thursday, September 3rd.
Our second contest is through the Red Cross for a chance to win ANOTHER scholarship for a graduating NHS senior! We are currently trying to beat our school record of 28 donors in ONE DRIVE.
Please consider donating blood next Thursday and helping our NHS students in their future endeavors through these Red Cross programs!

I’m Mrs. Julianna Conway. This is my fifth year teaching. I’ve been at Lakeland for two years as a part of the fifth and sixth grade team. During this time, I got involved with the FCA program as well as helping with the school musical. You can often find my husband (who teaches high school math at Lakeland) and I cheering on the various sports teams and activities at Lakeland.
Growing up, I always thought that I would be a music teacher, but life led me down a different path. I’m very excited to go back to the original plan, sharing my passion of music with students.
I cannot wait to see all of the students in a couple of weeks! If you have a chance, swing by during open house, so I can meet you!

Elementary Open House - Thursday, August 20th
Preschool: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Kindergarten: 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
1st through 4th grade: 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
5th and 6th grade: 5:45 pm start in the cafeteria
This allows students to meet their new teacher and drop off school supplies.
There will be a verification sheet to confirm that your information is correct for returning students.
Also, please check with your child's teacher to make sure that bus information is correct before you leave. Mr. Keith will be in the office to make any bus changes as necessary.
The nurse will be in the office if you have medications to drop off.
Lakeland PTSO will be in the elementary hallway near the water fountain taking membership applications. Membership is $1 for each parent, teacher and student. Membership allows you a vote on how the organization can best support the district.

Fall Sports Practice Schedules
Lakeland High School fall sports practices begin on Monday, August 10th:
Cross Country--6:00 AM to 8:00 AM Volleyball--6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Baseball--9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Lakeland Junior High fall sports practices will begin on Monday, August 17th.
Junior High Cross Country--6:00 AM to 8:00 AM Junior High Volleyball--Time TBD
Parents, please remember if your child is participating in sports they will need to have a sports physical turned into the office before they may participate in practice and contests.
Kindergarten DTAP: 4 doses, last after age 4 IPV: 3 doses, last after age 4 MMR, Varicella: 1 dose Hepatitis B: 3 doses

I will be teaching kindergarten and coaching junior high cheer.
I am enrolled at Walden University. I have been a substitute teacher for 2 years and my degree is in elementary education. I also coached for a year at Butler.
I always knew I wanted to teach. I love helping children grow academically and personally while building their confidence. I am honored to join the Lakeland family and look forward to building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
My goal is to create a positive, welcoming classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and excited to learn.

My name is Kyla Brown, and I will be teaching 5th and 6th Grade Reading. I grew up in Macks Creek, Missouri, and have lived at Lake of the Ozarks with my husband, Derek, for the past 10 years. We have 5-year-old twins, Will and Ada.
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I taught 3rd Grade for three years at the Macks Creek School District and 6th Grade Social Studies for four years at the Camdenton School District.
I am excited to join the Lakeland School District and for our family to become part of this wonderful community. I look forward to building relationships with students and families while contributing to the district’s continued growth and success. Go Vikings!
