Mrs. Becky Neuenschwander, preschool teacher, has received a $600 grant from the Central Region Missouri State Teachers Association. Mrs. Neuenschwander was one of five educators from the Central Region awarded a grant to implement an innovative classroom activity.
The grant is funded by contributions from the Missouri State Teachers Association members in the Central Region. Grant recipients will create a display of the student activities to share with fellow educators at the MSTA/Central Region Spring Banquet.
Mrs. Neuenschwander will use the grant funds to purchase supplies to help students engage in sensory activities. Sensory play in preschool helps to stimulate a child's senses. It also helps foster cognitive development, fine motor skills. language development and social skills.
