Dear Parents, Patrons, and Students, Considering guidance from many sources, including from local health care officials, the Lakeland R-III School District will cancel all classes through at least Friday April 3rd. This action is intended to help limit the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus. In addition, all extra-curricular events, practices, and use of district property for other gatherings is cancelled or postponed. For more detailed COVID-19-related information visit MO DHSS website: https://health.mo.gov/, or call their 24 information hour hotline: at 877-435-8411. The district will be working on alternative educational activities and ways to provide meals to for students. As details are finalized, more information will be provided through email, the district website and social media. Thank you for your patience during this time of uncertainty. This quote that has been circulating lately seems fitting at this time, “In the end, it will be impossible to know if we overreacted or did too much, but it will be quite apparent in we under-react and did too little”. Sincerely, Mitch Towne Lakeland R-III Superintendent
