Attention Parents
As we are expecting extremely cold temperatures tomorrow morning, Friday, January 23rd, we ask that you have your students wait inside near your door or in your car at bus stops. Keep watch for the bus and have your student head out when you see it approaching.
Please be patient with buses that may be running later than normal. Thank you for helping keep our students warm!

Dear Families and Staff,
Lakeland R-3 School District administration was made aware of an email that a student had reportedly sent and that contained a threatening statement toward a staff member. The message did not include any specific details.
We immediately contacted local law enforcement, and officers conducted an investigation. The situation is being handled directly with the student and their family.
The student in question will face disciplinary action in accordance with district policy. Due to our legal obligation to maintain student confidentiality, we cannot share further details. However, please know that we take this situation very seriously.
School will continue on Monday as scheduled, and all school-related events taking place between now and Monday will continue. To provide added reassurance, students, staff, and families will see an increased law enforcement presence at events. We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution.
Safety is always our number one priority. As always, if you or your student see or hear anything concerning, report it right away to a trusted adult, a school staff member, or local law enforcement. If you see something, say something.
We appreciate your support and understanding. Thank you for your attention to this update.
Sincerely,
Dr. Deanna Jurkowski
Superintendent

The Lakeland student body is invited to attend home basketball games and dress up for themes. The student section will be the section nearest to the Ag classroom door. See the photo for a list of home games and their themes.

Reminder: School will be in session on Monday, December 15th. This will allow us to finish the school year before Memorial Day weekend.

This marks the 20th year that Mrs. Peggy Keith has coordinated the donation and distribution of hats and gloves to our elementary students. Keeping our kids warm during the winter months is a much appreciated project. Thank you, Mrs. Peggy! 🧤🧤🧤
