The third graders enjoyed a book tasting last week! A book tasting is an event where students "taste" or sample a selection of books. They are a fun way to encourage students to explore different genres and authors. Yum!

Lakeland R-III Parents and Guardians, There have been many misleading rumors going around due to a juvenile runaway issue. At no time was a threat made toward the school, or any person at the school. Out of an abundance of caution the school resource officer was onsite all day and we chose not to have outdoor recess. The school was not on lockdown at any time during the day. The juvenile was taken into custody today and is safe. We are aware of parent’s concerns and will do our best to communicate with you in the future. If there is a crisis or a lockdown situation, you will be alerted through our notification system by phone, text, or email. Mitch Towne Superintendent Lakeland R-III School District
